Business Areas—Customer and Field Operations
Customer and Field Operations uses advanced technology to reduce costs and inefficiencies and to increase customer response and service around the world. We develop value-added programs and create cross-functional Customer Service teams whose primary emphasis is on supply-chain management efficiencies.
Our group comprises five departments:
- Customer Service
- Supply Management
- Distribution Services
- Retail Services
- Field Operations
Our organization utilizes a flexible, real-time, order management and information system (JD Edwards). Within this system, cross-functional Customer Service teams process orders, resolve deductions, and administer promotional payments to reduce the costs associated with the returns/reclamation processes.
Our largest partners communicate and share information more openly with us, creating a collaborative relationship that helps us serve them better while decreasing costs. By establishing strategically important Collaborative Planning Replenishment Forecasting (CPRF) and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) relationships with our customers, we help increase sales while reducing inventories.
The Customer and Field Operations organization coordinates fully automated, real-time distribution centers that are strategically located to provide efficient delivery of products to our worldwide customers where and when they need them. In addition, we run a streamlined carrier base system to provide electronic information and delivery confirmation to customers. We also drive the initiative to provide broad-based source tagging capabilities (Electronic Article Surveillance, or EAS).
Customer and Field Operations is a benchmark in our industry because of the talents of our people and the results they achieve. We're always looking for hard-working people who are energetic, action-oriented, and personable. Because we work with so many different groups, both inside and outside of Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, we also look for people who are good communicators. While we prefer to hire people with experience, we also consider recent college graduates.
