Business Areas—Human Resources

Human Resources plays an important role at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare because people are critical to our company's success. One of the ways we expect to achieve our company's Vision—to lead the way to a healthier world—is by attracting, developing, and motivating the best people. Our Human Resources professionals are right in the middle of that effort, both at the company level and within each business area.

Because of our place at the center of things, we learn about many aspects of our business, our products, and our customers. Because of our team approach, we work very well together. Because of the global nature of our business and our affiliation with Wyeth, we have many cross-functional opportunities. And because of the diverse backgrounds of our company's employees, we learn a great deal from one another.

We have two professional categories within our department—HR Generalists (Business Partners) and HR Specialists (Functional Experts).

Generalists provide HR leadership and define human resources strategies for a dedicated business-client group. They also manage the day-to-day HR needs of their clients. They are responsible for succession planning, staffing, organization development, employee relations, and compensation. Some Generalists become Specialists if they discover an aspect of the work that they particularly enjoy.

Specialists are subject matter experts. They design and implement human resources programs in one of several specific practice areas:

• Employee Development and Training
• Strategic Staffing
• Compensation
• Benefits
• HR IS

As a member of our Human Resources team, you will have opportunities to craft your own innovative solutions for issues, to use your ability to anticipate workforce trends, and to build your leadership skills with our business partners and for our company. Further, by being a part of our team, you will help bring about real, positive change in a highly visible and rewarding way. The outcome of your work will ensure growth for our company, our employees and yourself.
