"You won't find the quality of people and products that Wyeth Consumer Healthcare offers anywhere else. We really are the best."
A counselor informed me, fresh out of college, about an entry-level sales position with Wyeth Consumer Healthcare. I really was excited by the Wyeth Consumer Healthcare product line and I wanted to start a sales career, so it was perfect!
I've always had managers who were interested in my career goals and helped me find and pursue opportunities within Wyeth Consumer Healthcare. I spent eight years in the consumer division, first calling on stores and improving distribution, placement, and displays of our entire line, and then training others to do the same. I advanced into account management, which involved calling on retail chains such as Fred Meyer and Safeway. Then I moved into management, where I managed retail sales representatives and key account managers. Later I switched to the medical division, where I've been for the past three years. I manage 13 flex-time sales representatives who call on physicians in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, detailing Advil®, Children's Advil®, Dimetapp® and Robitussin®.

"I love the flexibility my job affords me so that I don't have to miss any important, or even minor, activities that my children participate in."
I chose to work at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare because I wanted a challenging, professional job, but with the flexibility I needed to care for my children and family commitments, as well. In fact, I liked my work here so much that I returned to the company after going elsewhere briefly. My first time was from June 1992 to June 1997. This time, I've been here since May 1999.
I like selling. I like building relationships with doctors and staff members. I like the challenge and opportunities of making my own schedule, managing my territory wisely, and knowing no two days will be alike. My career aspiration is to be a successful, top-selling rep. If I return to full-time selling, I would consider becoming a district manager.
Because of the connection with Wyeth, our parent company, I've been trained in drugs in many categories including, recently, prescription products. This change has given me the opportunity to work with a different mix of physicians and to interact more closely with my counterparts at other Wyeth divisions. I also enjoy mentoring new reps and working at various health care-related conventions when I'm needed.
Wyeth Consumer Healthcare offers the best, truly flex-time job. Other companies have tried, but they simply do not provide the flexibility that we have. If you want to enjoy a professional career with excellent training in products and sales, a professional-level salary and bonus, and great flexibility, this is the place for you. You'll never experience that feeling of guilt associated with neglecting either your job responsibilities or your family as you try to juggle a full-time career with caring for children and their needs.
