As a Research Scientist at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, you will help shorten the wait for groundbreaking treatments that provide a higher quality of life to people all over the world. Our research is focused on advancing medical therapy and prophylaxis in women's health care, central nervous system and musculoskeletal disorders, infectious diseases, oncology, hemophilia, vaccines, transplantation, and immunology—all vital and pressing health care issues.
Wyeth Research coordinates the efforts of nearly 6,000 employees worldwide in the discovery and development of new small molecule drugs, therapeutic proteins, and vaccines that will enhance both the quality of health care and our pharmaceutical product line.
Research operations are divided into three basic areas: Discovery, Development, and Clinical Research and Development. You could be involved in activities that provide all the necessary data for product approval and manufacturing—including drug metabolism, drug safety, chemical and biological processing, pharmaceutical sciences, and viral and bacterial vaccine processing. In Clinical Research and Development, your focus would be on studying new therapies and vaccines in human subjects and patients to support global product registrations and marketing.
