Wyeth’s strategic sourcing, transactional procurement, and supplier management activities around the world are managed centrally by our Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) organization and regionally and locally by a number of procurement and support teams. Together, our mission is to:

• Provide Wyeth with a distinct competitive advantage by effectively sourcing, contracting, and managing a world-class supply base.
• Ensure reliable supply and consistent quality of materials and services at the lowest total cost through continuous improvement, strong customer service, and strategic partnerships.

Wyeth’s strategic sourcing teams and transactional procurement operations are organized in support of a specific category of spend, geographical region, or product area.  Together, the people who make up these teams manage Wyeth’s entire Request-to-Pay process for hundreds of categories of production and non-production goods and services around the world.

Wyeth identifies hundreds of new sourcing and category management opportunities every year – part of a continuous search for supply partners that will add value to Wyeth’s operations through improved quality, reliability, service, and total cost. We seek to identify and drive the use of preferred suppliers for many goods and services to help realize economies of scale across divisions, therapeutic areas, and geographies and to obtain the most competitive pricing possible for the Company.
